CSSJ Healthy: Discipline, Nutrition and Energy

Through consistent movement, discipline, and healthy habits, we highlight how physical activity contributes to improving students’ daily energy levels, demonstrating that an active lifestyle is key to feeling healthy and motivated. At the Community School for Social Justice, we have an excellent and responsible trainer named Josh. He guides us, teaches us how to perform exercises correctly, and advises us on the foods we should and shouldn’t eat. For example, he explains that junk food negatively impacts our health and prevents us from looking and feeling healthy. Instead, he recommends blueberry or banana smoothies, which are delicious and can contribute to muscle development.

On December 17th, I went to the gym where I saw some people exercising and also Josh guiding them. Many of the students at this school are in good shape, and the gym is in very good condition, which makes everyone want to go and work out without fear of coming into contact with other people’s sweat. This is good because it’s a positive reflection on the gym and the school’s trainer.

In this image, you can see a student from the CSSJ, who clearly gave me permission to use his photo, exercising, and also Josh (the coach) is there helping him focus and perform the exercise correctly.

With all this, I want to emphasize that the key to a healthy life and feeling good is self-confidence and not being afraid to exercise at school for fear of others making fun of you. That’s what the school gym is for, and that’s what the teacher/coach is there for. I also want to add that discipline and the support of someone who can guide and correct your mistakes is very helpful, as it will give you more confidence to exercise freely in the gym.
