Better Luck Next Time, Yankees!

Recently, CSSJ attended the Yankees VS. Orioles on September 24th. Everybody seemed excited and the energy in the stadium was amazing. It was a great way for teachers, students and parents to bond. My friends and I talked about it for days leading up to it. Everybody was really excited to see a game before the season ended. The game definitely had its ups and downs. There was a lot of motivation for the Yankees to try and win what would have been their 21st AL east title. Leading on the mound for the yankees was number 36, Clark Schmidt. Schmidt was looking good until the 2nd inning where the Orioles rallied to get a run. The Orioles did so again in the bottom of the 4th inning. During the game, I sat with family and friends and it felt very rejuvenating to see everybody cheering on the Yankees. Later on, Aaron Judge showed a true MVP season when he stepped up to the plate hitting a monstrous home run to center field. His 55 home runs are the fifth-most in a single season by a Yankee, ahead of Babe Ruth (1920, ’28), Mickey Mantle (1961) and Alex Rodriguez (2007), according to MLB.com, as of the game day. Having the opportunity to be able to go to this game with CSSJ was truly an astounding experience and I hope to be able to do something like this again maybe later in the school year. Sadly, the yankees couldn’t overcome the deficit losing the game 5-3. My sister who also attended the game said ‘Aaron Judge made the best home run.” Although the Yankees lost, it was still a memorable experience I get to share with those who are close to me. This is yet another opportunity for the Yankees themselves to get better and surely win the next one. Better luck next time, Yankees!
