Senior year at Community School for Social Justice (CSSJ) brings a mix of excitement, pressure, and reflection. As the final year of high school approaches, seniors are focused on finishing strong, preparing for the future, and savoring their last year with friends and teachers.
Reflecting on the Past
For many seniors, this year is a time to look back on all the memories and experiences from their time at CSSJ. Whether it’s thinking about the friendships they’ve made, the challenges they’ve overcome, or the lessons they’ve learned, senior year provides a chance to reflect on how much they’ve grown. It’s also a time to appreciate the community and the close-knit environment the school offers. CSSJ provided us all the comfort to express ourselves and enjoy the true beauty of high school.
Facing the Future
With graduation just around the corner, seniors are feeling the pressure to figure out what comes next. Many are focused on applying to colleges, making decisions about their careers, or planning other steps for the future. The uncertainty of what’s ahead can be stressful, but it’s also an exciting time as they prepare for the next chapter of their lives. For example, I applied to University of Connecticut among others, with a major in criminology.
A Tight-Knit Community
CSSJ is known for its supportive and caring community. Seniors often take on leadership roles, helping to guide underclassmen and organizing school events. The strong sense of friendship and support within the school makes senior year feel special, with everyone looking out for each other as they all navigate their final year.
The Final Step
For seniors at CSSJ, graduation isn’t just the end of high school—it’s the beginning of the next phase of their lives. The skills, lessons, and friendships they’ve built will stay with them as they step into the future, ready to face whatever challenges come their way.
As graduation approaches, seniors are filled with mixed emotions. They’re excited for what comes next, but there’s also a sense of sadness as they prepare to leave behind the school and the friends they’ve grown close to over the years. For many, it’s a time to reflect on their journey and how much they’ve learned and grown during their time at CSSJ.
