Everyday at CSSJ, there are not that many students getting cafeteria food by either choice. There are more students who go to the CSSJ store because they don’t like how the school food looks and tastes. Students get tired of being served the same foods week by week, and because of that, students buy their usual Bacon, Egg & Cheese, Chopped Cheese, or Turkey or Ham Sandwiches along with a bag of Chips and a flavored Arizona Iced Tea. However, some of the school food they serve tastes good like pizza for example, but other school foods taste dry and look dry to the point where students lose their appetite. Sanoh, a senior shared his opinion on school food. He said, “[t]here are times where they make it pretty good but sometimes they make it pretty bad so it’s like a 50/50 chance.”
Here some examples of what dry foods look like:

These are the types of school foods that every student is served and deal with every day. They view it to be disgusting and not worth eating but they don’t have a choice because they don’t want to go hungry.
There are other students who don’t eat school for a different reason. Kai said, “If you’re asking about school foods, I barely know it because I don’t eat it. Not because they’re nasty, but because they serve too early.”
Overall, students are ambivalent about the food, as of now.
