On this Halloween, students and staff members at CSSJ celebrated Halloween for the first time officially with a custom fashion parade. Halloween was celebrated in such a unique fashion at CSSJ. Students and staff members who dressed up for the occasion wore outfits such as Ghostbuster, Little Red Riding Hood, the Grinch, a trash bag, the bunny from Space Jams, Angel costumes, and many, many more things. This year’s Halloween was uniquely different from the rest because people wearing costumes were walking through the hallways displaying their costumes and outfits. While other students and staff had voting ballots where they could choose who were wearing the best costume, the scariest costume, and the most creative. Surprisingly, Jamie, our principal, won the scariest costume award as the Yondr man. During the parade, students were cheering for their friends, peers, and staff while also enjoying themselves.
Walking around, I asked students what they thought about the parade and many of them enjoyed it and genuinely appreciated the efforts of all the staff making the parade happen in the first place, and also the people who dressed up in the parade. Sherry-Ann even gave away costumes for anyone who wanted to participate in the parade but did not have one. Overall, students enjoyed their experience at the parade, and staff had fun as well.
By the two entrances of the multipurpose room, there’s a stage with colorful theater lights above it, and although we call it a stage, it’s really just a small raised platform with stairs on the side. Soon, this stage will be filled with seniors. Hi y’all! It’s that time of year again for Community School […]
